Crufts Dog Show at the NEC: Behind the Scenes with the NEC Exhibition Staff Agency…
Exhibition Staff for Xbox launch
Exhibition Staff for Xbox launch
When Xbox planned to launch a new Mortal Kombat X at he Koko Arena in London, they knew exactly what they needed. 33 event staff and one event manager to organise the event, provide customer assistance and promote the game as well as dealing with celebrities like Chris Eubank Jr, Kolisinac and Mesut Ozil playing live on Twitch.
It was a tall order, but we sprang into action.
Checking our database, we quickly found the best people for the launch. They were soon on site, helping to get the launch event underway.
What happened during the launch?
Our exhibition staff were responsible for managing all the public facing gaming stations. They also had to look after the celebrities and ensure that no problems occurred at any point. Familiarity with the consoles was required as they were responsible for restarting games, encouraging people to play and keeping the playing area tidy.
Spending time playing the Mortal Kombat game was also essential – after all, they did have to help visitors use the consoles!
Every staff member was given full training on the consoles and the product
During the event, our staff were placed around the Koko area, ensuring that every member of the public had a fair try at the game. It was hectic – over 1,000 people came to the launch during the seven hour event.
At the same time, they had to monitor the celebrities and make sure that they were not hassled by members of the public, and were able to enjoy their gaming experience.
Result
It was a total, overwhelming success. All journalists and VIP’s had a great time, and gained a very good appreciation of both the brand and the new game. Members of the public loved it, reporting positively on social media. Our hardworking team were equally appreciative of the opportunity to try the new game before the official release date, and Xbox were thrilled by their professionalism, skill and customer care.
